What should I wear to class?

Footwear:

• Comfy trainers you can move in—like Nike Air Force 1s or classic Adidas shells—basically anything sporty you’d find at JD, Foot Asylum, Urban Outfitters, Primark or even Vinted without splashing out!

Clothing:

Hip-Hop: Sporty, laid-back vibes—oversized hoodies, relaxed joggers, crop tops over t-shirts—anything you’d throw on for a day out, not just class. You don’t need to look like a runway model—our teachers would happily say high-street finds work great!

Contemporary: Whatever feels good for you. Shorts, loose joggers, or fitted sets are all fine. Tighter clothing just helps our teachers see your lines and check you’re working safely, but it’s not a rule. Bare feet or Bloch-type socks help with floorwork.

Acro: Bare feet are safest. Please avoid baggy tops or shorts so instructors can support you safely in lifts. Otherwise, wear whatever lets you twist, flip and bend comfortably.

Breakdance: A lightweight jacket or windbreaker is perfect for those power moves. T-shirts are fine underneath—bring a hoodie too if you’re layering. Long trousers work best for sliding on the floor.

General “Avoid” list:

  • Jeans (unless super stretchy)
  • School uniform
  • Anything that makes you feel uncomfortable or self-conscious (style is your choice—just keep it safe and practical for the class type!)
